Job Overview:
The Diversity & Inclusion Adviser position at CERN is designed for individuals who are passionate about promoting diversity and inclusion within an international organization. The role involves working closely with the Diversity & Inclusion Programme Leader and collaborating with various stakeholders across the organization. The adviser will be responsible for developing competencies in diversity & inclusion strategy development, change management, communications, data analysis, event organization, and administrative support. The position requires a proactive approach to contribute to the design and implementation of a new inclusion-based strategy, support D&I-related activities, and analyze diversity-related data to present findings effectively. The adviser will also be involved in organizing awareness-raising events and communicating the Programme's activities in creative and inclusive ways, making this a dynamic and impactful role within CERN.

Duties and Responsibilities:
As a Diversity & Inclusion Adviser, your responsibilities will include:
  • Contributing to the design and implementation of a new inclusion-based strategy.
  • Proposing and supporting D&I-related activities that align with CERN's mission.
  • Extracting and analyzing diversity-related data and presenting the results to stakeholders.
  • Establishing and fostering professional relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders within CERN.
  • Preparing and delivering presentations related to diversity and inclusion initiatives.
  • Organizing and chairing meetings to discuss D&I strategies and progress.
  • Drafting newsletters and reports to communicate D&I activities and outcomes.
  • Developing and organizing awareness-raising events to promote diversity and inclusion.
  • Responding to D&I-related queries, including sensitive topics, with professionalism and care. 1
  • Handling various administrative tasks to support the Diversity & Inclusion Programme.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must demonstrate a strong interest or experience in diversity and inclusion matters, either professionally or in another capacity. The ability to work autonomously and manage a busy workload is essential. Good communication skills are required, along with a willingness to further develop these skills. Candidates should have a demonstrated ability and interest in extracting, analyzing, and visualizing data. Familiarity with basic website management using platforms like Drupal or WordPress is advantageous. Proficiency in oral and written English is mandatory, and strong office skills, particularly in PowerPoint, Excel, PowerBI, and AI tools, are also required. Experience in organizing events or awareness-raising campaigns is considered an asset.

Educational Background:
The position requires candidates to be nationals of a CERN Member or Associate Member State. By the application deadline, candidates should have a maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation in Social Science, Communications, or Human Resources (or a related field). The highest educational qualification must be either a Bachelor's or Master's degree. Applicants without a university degree are not eligible, and those with a PhD are also not eligible for this position.
