Job Overview: The Country Director (CD) is responsible for providing strong leadership to the RI Country Team, fostering team spirit, cohesion, motivation, and commitment among team members. The CD will oversee strategic planning, design" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">program design and implementation, program support operations, external relations, finance and budget compliance, administration, monitoring and evaluation, staff supervision, and reporting on grants. The role requires ensuring that programs align with RI's philosophy and strategy, meet beneficiary needs, and are executed to the highest standards, on time, and within budget. The CD will also lead efforts to secure funding and identify new program opportunities while continuously assessing and addressing gaps to enhance overall program performance and effectiveness. The CD serves as the primary link between the country team and the Regional Support Office (RSO) and Global Support Office (GSO), maintaining close communication with the Regional Director.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Country Director's responsibilities include leading the development of medium and long-range strategic plans, ensuring effective communication with donors, preparing high-quality funding proposals, tracking funding trends, cultivating relationships with new donors, and identifying opportunities for program growth. The CD will supervise project implementation, monitor project progress, ensure compliance with project goals, and manage personnel effectively. The CD is also responsible for the safety of all staff and assets, maintaining relationships with government authorities, managing financial records, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations, and overseeing audits. The role requires active participation in the humanitarian and development community, representing RI in various forums, and ensuring that all staff adhere to safety policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master's degree in a relevant field or a Bachelor's degree with equivalent work experience. A minimum of ten years of professional experience in lead management of emergency response programs in conflict settings is required, with at least five years in senior management roles. Specific knowledge of RI's implementation processes and a demonstrated ability to achieve results consistent with RI's values are essential. Candidates should have experience collaborating with local governments, NGOs, and international agencies, as well as strong interpersonal, communication, public speaking, and strategic planning skills. The ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines efficiently is crucial, along with proven leadership skills and experience managing multidisciplinary teams.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Master's degree in a relevant field or a Bachelor's degree with substantial work experience in a related area.
