Job Overview:
The position of Translation Project Manager Assistant Consultant is designed for a proactive and dynamic individual with expertise in translation project management and related technologies. The successful candidate will join the Translation and Documentation Section, which serves as the official translation service for the IDB Group. This section is responsible for delivering high-quality language and documentation services that support the organization's diverse and multilingual environment. The role requires the individual to ensure timely processing of translation requests, determine project requirements, and streamline workflows for maximum efficiency. The consultant will also be involved in assigning translators and revisers based on project needs and leveraging various tools to enhance productivity.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Translation Project Manager Assistant Consultant include ensuring the timely processing of translation requests, determining project requirements, languages involved, volume, and deadlines. The consultant will streamline workflows for maximum efficiency and assign translators, revisers, and other team members based on project needs. They will research relevant IDB Group official documentation to be used as reference by freelancers and other team members. Acting as the primary point of contact for freelancers, the consultant will address questions, provide updates, and onboard new professionals. They will liaise with clients to address document issues and ensure the delivery of translations within deadlines. The consultant will process and file translations according to the Section’s standards, identify and mitigate risks, and actively participate in the implementation of new systems that improve productivity and workflow. Additionally, they will make recommendations concerning the adoption of new technologies to meet new requirements or improve the efficiency and productivity of current systems, and perform other related duties as required.

Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for this position include a Bachelor’s degree in administration, social sciences, or a language-related field. A Localization/Translation Project Management Certification is also required. The candidate must have at least two years of relevant experience in translation project management, monitoring workflows, prioritizing requests, and serving as a point of contact with external parties. Familiarity and comfort with using CAT tools, translation management software, standard automated office systems, databases, AI, and web technologies are essential.

Educational Background:
The educational background needed for this position includes a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as administration, social sciences, or languages. Additionally, a certification in Localization/Translation Project Management is mandatory to ensure the candidate possesses the necessary skills and knowledge for effective project management in translation.

Experience:
The position requires at least two years of relevant experience in translation project management. This experience should include monitoring workflows, prioritizing requests, and serving as a point of contact with external parties. The candidate must also be familiar with CAT tools and translation management software, which are crucial for managing translation projects effectively.

Languages:
Proficiency in Spanish and English, both spoken and written, is required for this position. Additional knowledge of French and Portuguese is considered desirable, as it would enhance communication and collaboration within the multilingual environment of the IDB Group.

The contract type for this position is International Consultant, and it is a full-time role. The length of the contract is 12 months, and the work location is on-site in Washington, DC.
