Job Overview:
The Program Assistant position at WJCF is designed for a highly motivated individual who will support the Lymphatic Filariasis (LF) and Visceral Leishmaniasis (VL) programs under the National Centre for Vector Borne Disease Control (NCVBDC). The role involves working closely with the Technical Support Unit (TSU) to enhance programmatic and surveillance data management. The Program Assistant will be responsible for compiling, validating, and analyzing data from various sources to improve data quality and facilitate informed decision-making by national and state actors. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively while collaborating with various stakeholders, including the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist the TSU in ensuring regular program data collection from states and follow up on data submissions.
  • Attend meetings and take detailed minutes to document discussions and decisions.
  • Support NCVBDC in developing a comprehensive calendar of events for vector-borne disease (VBD) activities at both national and state levels.
  • Regularly follow up with VBD departments and states regarding programmatic priorities and updates.
  • Facilitate timely responses to communications received from stakeholders and coordinate with various program divisions.
  • Support the team in consolidating, updating, and verifying data received for the program to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Perform any other tasks as assigned by the TSU Team Lead to support program objectives.

Required Qualifications:
  • A university degree in a relevant field.
  • At least 2-3 years of work experience in a related role.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel (including formulas, macros/VBA), PowerPoint, and internet applications.
  • Previous experience in managing and analyzing large data sets is essential.
  • Exceptional diplomatic and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Ability to evaluate systems holistically and provide recommendations for improvement.

Educational Background:
