Job Overview:
The position within the Global Partnerships Office is crucial for enhancing the IDB Group's strategic partnerships and resource mobilization activities in Asia. The role involves engaging with a variety of stakeholders, including international institutions, NGOs, and private sector partners, to support the IDB Group's development initiatives. The selected candidate will be responsible for identifying potential partners, reporting on strategic activities, and aligning these efforts with the IDB Group's priorities. This position requires a proactive approach to building relationships and facilitating collaboration across different sectors to achieve the organization's goals.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The selected candidate will undertake a variety of business support functions, including:
  • Designing and implementing a data-driven system to enhance efficiency in institutional engagement activities, ensuring better tracking of operational opportunities.
  • Conducting mapping and landscaping exercises to identify potential partners and stakeholders in member countries across Asia.
  • Gathering data to analyze partnership opportunities and potential funding sources that align with the IDB Group's mandate.
  • Supporting outreach efforts and partnership activities with multilateral organizations in Asia.
  • Coordinating project management tasks, including logistical planning for high-level forums, conferences, and internal meetings.
  • Contributing to knowledge sharing and communication activities to disseminate best practices and lessons learned through various media channels.
  • Maintaining and improving the ASI website and other communication tools in accordance with the ORP communication strategy.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, International Development, Economics, or a related field. Additionally, a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. The role demands strong analytical skills, the ability to work collaboratively, and a commitment to continuous learning and innovation.

Educational Background:
A Master's degree is required for this position, with a focus on fields relevant to the responsibilities of the role, such as Business Administration, Finance, International Development, or Economics. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of partnership building and resource mobilization in the context of international development.

Experience:
The position requires at least 5 years of relevant professional experience. This experience should ideally encompass roles that involve strategic engagement, partnership development, and resource mobilization, particularly in an international or multicultural context. Candidates with a proven track record of working with diverse stakeholders and managing complex projects will be preferred.

Languages:
Proficiency in Japanese is mandatory, along with a strong command of English. These language skills are essential for effective communication with stakeholders and partners in the region. Additional language skills may be considered an asset but are not required.

This is a full-time National Consultant position based in Tokyo, Japan, with a contract duration of 12 months.
