Job Overview: The Empathy Movement Leader will be responsible for leading and growing the Everyone A Changemaker movement in Indonesia and Southeast Asia. This role requires a visionary entrepreneur who can cultivate partnerships with various stakeholders, including education entrepreneurs, schools, government agencies, and media influencers. The leader will advance strategies that enhance changemaking skills across Indonesian society, particularly among youth, parents, and educators. The position involves designing systems to extract insights from Ashoka Fellow innovations and collaborating with senior stakeholders to build an integrated team of teams in the region. The leader will also be tasked with raising resources and pioneering new revenue models to establish empathy and changemaking as essential skills for all children.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead and grow the Everyone A Changemaker movement in Indonesia, collaborating with partners and Ashoka teams.
Cultivate relationships with education entrepreneurs, schools, teacher training institutions, government agencies, media influencers, and youth organizations.
Develop and implement strategies that lead to measurable increases in changemaking skills throughout Indonesian society.
Design and lead systems to leverage insights from Ashoka Fellow innovations.
Collaborate with Ashoka’s CEO and regional leaders to create an integrated team of teams.
Raise resources and develop new revenue models to support the movement.
Advocate for the importance of empathy and changemaking in education and society.
Required Qualifications:
Proven track record of creating new ideas that result in systemic change.
Experience managing programs focused on empathy and changemaking.
Strong networks across various sectors, including education, NGOs, government, and commercial.
Demonstrated ability to innovate solutions and successfully implement them.
Experience in scaling social impact within organizations.
Exceptional communication skills and ability to lead through influence.
Experience in client/partner relationship management, fundraising, and budget management.
Emotional maturity and ability to work as a gracious team player.
Educational Background: A relevant educational background in social entrepreneurship, education, or a related field is preferred. Candidates should have a strong understanding of empathy and changemaking principles, as well as experience in educational systems and social impact initiatives.
Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience in roles related to social entrepreneurship, education, or community development is required. Candidates should have a proven history of leading initiatives that drive social change and possess a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities within the Indonesian context.
Languages: Fluency in Bahasa Indonesian is mandatory, as well as fluency in English. Proficiency in additional languages relevant to Southeast Asia would be considered an asset.
Additional Notes: This position is full-time and based in Indonesia. The role involves significant collaboration with various stakeholders and may require travel within Southeast Asia.
