Job Overview: The Framework Change Leader will play a pivotal role in communicating and promoting the new paradigm of changemaking, focusing on universalizing empathy and related skills among youth. This position requires a creative and entrepreneurial communications leader who can generate widespread change in collaboration with Ashoka's Europe communications team. The leader will engage with major media organizations to craft a compelling narrative around the importance of changemaking skills in today's fast-paced world. The role involves building partnerships with influential media players and leading a team of next-generation media and communications leaders to spread the message of 'everyone a changemaker.' Success in this role will be measured by the establishment of key partnerships and the development of a co-leadership team that can effectively advocate for changemaking as a societal norm.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a strategic communications plan to promote the changemaking narrative across Europe.
Collaborate with Ashoka’s communications and partnerships teams to identify and recruit major media organizations for partnerships.
Create compelling content that highlights the stories of Ashoka Fellows and the impact of changemaking.
Lead a team of media and communications leaders to execute campaigns that promote the changemaking narrative.
Establish metrics for success and evaluate the impact of communications efforts on public perception of changemaking.
Foster relationships with key stakeholders in the media and education sectors to advance Ashoka's mission.
Organize events and initiatives that engage the public and raise awareness about the importance of changemaking skills.
Monitor trends in media and education to adapt strategies accordingly.
Report on progress and outcomes to Ashoka leadership and stakeholders.
Required Qualifications:
Proven experience in a leadership role within communications, media, or social change organizations.
Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
Experience in building and managing partnerships with media organizations.
Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage complex projects.
Strategic thinker with a track record of generating impactful change.
Passion for social impact and a commitment to Ashoka's mission.
Educational Background: A bachelor's degree in communications, social sciences, or a related field is required. A master's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant area is preferred. Candidates should have a strong academic background that demonstrates their understanding of social entrepreneurship, media, and communications.
Experience: Candidates should have at least 15 years of experience in communications, media, or social change, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role. Experience in guiding systemic change at a national level is essential, as well as a proven track record of successful partnerships and campaigns.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory. Proficiency in additional European languages is highly desirable and will be considered an asset for the role.
Additional Notes: This is a senior leadership position with an estimated annual gross salary of £95,000-£115,000, plus a comprehensive compensation package that includes a 10% annual discretionary performance bonus, equity bonus, 25 annual leave days, flexible working arrangements, and various employee wellbeing programs. The role is full-time and involves international collaboration.
