Job Overview:
The Communication & Community Intern position at Ashoka Belgium offers a unique opportunity for individuals interested in social change and social innovation. The intern will be involved in various communication campaigns and will assist in creating marketing materials, managing social media content, and organizing events. The intern will report to Romain Gustot, co-director, and will have the chance to participate in online and offline training sessions covering topics such as communication, management, entrepreneurship, and new leadership. The internship is flexible, with a commitment of 4-6 months starting in September 2024, and offers the possibility of home working.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will primarily focus on external communication, which constitutes 80% of the role. This includes assisting the communication associate with the Ashoka Belgium website, providing recommendations for next steps, and supporting content copywriting, storytelling, and editing. The intern will oversee the daily social media calendar across platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram, and will be responsible for curating and creating engaging content, including video, image, and audio materials. Additionally, the intern will help tell the stories of Ashoka's Fellows and the organization's history. The remaining 20% of the role involves event and community management, where the intern will support the team in managing guest lists, organizing events, and coordinating logistics for both in-person and online events.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must be proficient in using the Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. They should also be familiar with various social media platforms such as LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), and YouTube. Familiarity with design tools like Canva, InDesign, and iMovie is also required. The ideal candidate should be creative, resourceful in problem-solving, and eager to develop communication materials for Ashoka Belgium. Strong writing and communication skills in English are essential, along with proficiency in French and/or Dutch.
