Job Overview: The Corporate Services Senior Analyst position is focused on ensuring the accuracy and completeness of documents produced by the IDB Group. The role is situated within the Translation and Documentation Section, which serves as the official translation service for the organization. The analyst will be responsible for cross-reading and proofreading translations, ensuring they meet the IDB Group’s guidelines across its four official languages. This position requires collaboration with revisers to prepare draft translations, updating translation memory and terminology databases, and contributing to special projects aimed at enhancing the quality of documentation services. The analyst will also guide new team members in quality control processes and identify areas for improvement in workflows and methodologies, all while pursuing relevant skill development.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Corporate Services Senior Analyst include:
Cross-reading and proofreading translations to ensure accuracy and consistency.
Formatting and laying out finalized translations according to Section standards.
Collaborating with assigned revisers to prepare draft translations for review.
Updating translation memory and terminology databases using CAT tools.
Contributing to special projects, including terminology resources, glossaries, and style manuals.
Guiding new team members in mastering quality control processes.
Identifying improvements in workflows and tools, presenting actionable recommendations.
Engaging in continuous skill development relevant to the role.
Performing other related duties as required.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master’s degree or equivalent, preferably in translation, languages, or a related field. They should have at least two years of relevant professional experience in language work, translation, quality control, proofreading, or document editing, ideally in an international context. Proficiency in standard automated office systems, CAT tools, databases, and web technologies is essential.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Master’s degree or equivalent in translation, languages, or a language-related field. This advanced education is crucial for understanding the complexities of language work and quality control in a multilingual environment.
Experience: The position requires at least two years of relevant professional experience in language work, which may include translation, quality control, proofreading, or document editing. Experience in an international context is preferred, as it provides insight into the diverse linguistic and cultural nuances that may arise in the role.
Languages: Proficiency in English and Spanish is mandatory for this position, with a working knowledge or proficiency in French and/or Portuguese being highly desirable. This multilingual capability is essential for ensuring effective communication and quality control across the IDB Group’s documentation.
Additional Notes: The position offers an international staff contract for an initial duration of 36 months, which is renewable upon mutual agreement.
