Job Overview:
The position of Social Media Editor Consultant is designed for a professional who is adept at navigating the social media landscape and is eager to contribute positively to the IDB Invest's mission. This role is pivotal as IDB Invest transitions to a new business model, requiring a strategic approach to social media that aligns with corporate objectives. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and enhancing IDB Invest's social media presence, ensuring that the organization's stories and impacts are effectively communicated to a broader audience. This includes developing and executing a comprehensive social media strategy that resonates with stakeholders and promotes engagement.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Social Media Editor will undertake a variety of responsibilities, including translating business objectives into actionable social media strategies, planning and executing these strategies, and managing the social media content calendar in collaboration with various teams. The role involves writing, editing, and creating bilingual content for IDB Invest’s social media channels, ensuring that all communications are aligned with the organization's branding and messaging. Additionally, the editor will manage workflows with designers and translators to produce high-quality multimedia content, provide performance reports based on key performance indicators (KPIs), monitor online conversations to manage reputational risks, and conduct training sessions for employees to advocate for IDB Invest on social media.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in journalism, marketing, communications, business, or a related field. A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in social media management or a similar role is required. The ideal candidate will have a perfect command of both English and Spanish, with Portuguese proficiency considered an asset. Key skills include the ability to learn continuously, collaborate effectively, focus on client needs, communicate persuasively, and innovate within the social media space. Strong writing and editing skills for digital platforms, along with experience in online community management and familiarity with industry best practices, are essential.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as journalism, marketing, communications, or business is preferred. This educational background provides the foundational knowledge necessary for effective communication and strategic planning in social media management.

Experience:
The position requires at least 2 years of relevant experience in social media management or a related field. This experience should include a demonstrated ability to create engaging content, manage social media channels, and analyze performance metrics to inform strategy.

Languages:
Fluency in both English and Spanish is mandatory for this position, as the role involves creating and managing content in both languages. Proficiency in Portuguese is desirable but not required, adding an additional layer of communication capability within the diverse linguistic landscape of Latin America and the Caribbean.
