Job Overview: The Consultant - Junior Graphic Designer will play a crucial role in WRI's creative team, producing a variety of print and digital materials that contribute to the organization's mission of sustainability. Reporting to the Global Creative Director, the designer will collaborate with the Africa Director of Communications and the Outreach design team to launch and complete projects. This position requires proficiency in Adobe's Digital Publishing Suite and a keen attention to detail, as the designer will manage multiple high-profile projects simultaneously. The role is a contract position for six months, with the potential for extension or conversion to a full-time role based on performance and funding availability.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Junior Graphic Designer will be responsible for working within the Adobe Digital Publishing Suite, which includes InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator. Key duties include creating, laying out, and managing reports, issue briefs, brochures, and other print materials using a templated system. The designer will also build graphics for blogs, social media, and printed materials, as well as design presentations in PowerPoint. The role requires the ability to iterate on projects based on feedback and to communicate effectively with a diverse range of individuals. Flexibility and the capacity to meet tight deadlines are essential for success in this position.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a completed bachelor’s degree in graphic design or a related field.
