Job Overview:
The IDB is seeking an expert in behavioral economics to provide scientific and technical guidance for a research project focused on understanding the informal economy and the behaviors of economic agents in Bolivia, Ecuador, Paraguay, and Suriname. The consultant will play a crucial role in supporting technical coordinators and project teams by offering insights based on their extensive research and publications in the field. The consultant will be responsible for reviewing research proposals, providing analytical guidance during seminars, and contributing to the dissemination of research findings.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant's primary duties will include supporting technical coordinators in drafting calls for research proposals, reviewing submitted proposals, and providing recommendations for selection. They will participate in discussion seminars, offering analytical guidance and feedback on research studies. The consultant will review drafts of studies, ensuring quality and rigor in the research process. Additionally, they will assist in writing an analytical summary of the research project for dissemination. Deliverables will include written assessments and recommendations for proposals, drafts, and final studies, along with contributions to a chapter summarizing the project findings.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master's degree in economics, with a PhD preferred. A minimum of 10 years of relevant professional experience or a strong record of academic publications in behavioral economics is required. The consultant should demonstrate expertise in analyzing economic behaviors and possess strong analytical skills to guide research effectively. Proficiency in both Spanish and English, both spoken and written, is mandatory for this role.

Educational Background:
The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in economics, with a preference for those holding a PhD in the same field. This educational background is essential to ensure the consultant has the necessary theoretical and practical knowledge to contribute effectively to the research project.

Experience:
The position requires at least 10 years of relevant professional experience in behavioral economics or a related field.
