Job Overview: The internship position at UNECE is designed for individuals who are eager to gain practical experience in the field of sustainable development and energy management. The intern will play a crucial role in supporting the Division's work by assisting in the organization and servicing of intergovernmental and expert meetings. This includes a focus on critical areas such as energy for sustainable development, just transition, energy security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security, renewable energy, and energy efficiency. The intern will also engage in research and data analysis, contributing to the preparation of studies and articles, and will be involved in outreach efforts through social media campaigns. Duties and Responsibilities: The intern's responsibilities will include:
Assisting in the organization and servicing of intergovernmental and expert meetings related to energy and sustainable development.
Conducting research and data analysis on topics relevant to the Division's work.
Drafting studies, short articles, and promotional content for social media campaigns.
Supporting the secretariat and experts in data collection and analysis, including web searches.
Preparing documentation and reports for meetings.
Updating UNECE databases and providing meeting support as required.
Carrying out additional tasks as assigned by the Division.
Required Qualifications: Applicants must meet one of the following criteria: (a) be enrolled in or have completed a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) be a student in the final year of a first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master's or Ph.D. program, or have completed a Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. program. Additionally, applicants should have good knowledge of standard software applications, particularly MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Teams. The ability to draft news articles and social media posts is desirable.
Educational Background: The position requires candidates to be either enrolled in or have completed a graduate program or be in the final year of their undergraduate studies. This includes students pursuing Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. degrees. Proof of enrollment or completion must be provided with the application.
Experience: While specific professional experience is not mandated, candidates should demonstrate relevant academic experience or internships that align with the responsibilities of the position. Familiarity with the workings of international organizations or experience in research and data analysis will be beneficial.
