Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and implement strategies for country engagement and regional coordination that align with the organization's goals.
Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, NGOs, and community leaders.
Coordinate regional initiatives and ensure effective communication and collaboration among different country teams.
Monitor and evaluate the impact of engagement strategies and adjust approaches as necessary.
Represent the organization at regional and international meetings, advocating for the organization's mission and objectives.
Provide guidance and support to country teams in the implementation of programs and initiatives.
Facilitate knowledge sharing and best practices among countries to enhance regional cooperation.
Prepare reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders on engagement activities and outcomes.
Required Qualifications:
Proven experience in strategic engagement and coordination at a regional or international level.
Strong understanding of the political, social, and economic landscape in Africa.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate effectively.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on results.
Educational Background: A Master's degree in international relations, development studies, public policy, or a related field is required. A PhD or equivalent experience in a relevant area is preferred.
Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience in international development, with at least 5 years in a leadership role focused on regional coordination and stakeholder engagement. Experience working in Africa is highly desirable.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory. Proficiency in French or Portuguese is an asset, as these languages are widely spoken in various African countries.
Additional Notes: This position is remote, allowing for flexibility in work location. The role is full-time and may require occasional travel to various countries within Africa for meetings and engagements.
