Job Overview: The Regional Campaigner for Asia will play a crucial role in mobilizing feminist and women's movements across the region. This position involves strategizing and implementing campaigns that address key issues affecting women and girls, such as violence, discrimination, and access to education and healthcare. The campaigner will work closely with grassroots organizations, activists, and stakeholders to build coalitions and amplify the voices of marginalized communities. The role requires a deep understanding of the socio-political landscape in Asia and the ability to navigate complex cultural contexts. The campaigner will also be responsible for developing communication strategies, organizing events, and leveraging social media to raise awareness and drive action on women's rights issues.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and implement regional campaigns that align with the organization's mission and objectives.
Collaborate with local partners and stakeholders to identify key issues and mobilize support for campaigns.
Conduct research and analysis on women's rights issues in the region to inform campaign strategies.
Organize and facilitate workshops, training sessions, and events to build capacity among activists and organizations.
Create and disseminate campaign materials, including reports, toolkits, and social media content.
Monitor and evaluate the impact of campaigns and adjust strategies as needed.
Represent the organization at regional and international forums, advocating for women's rights and gender equality.
Build and maintain relationships with media outlets to promote campaign messages and increase visibility.
Required Qualifications:
Proven experience in campaign management, advocacy, or related fields, particularly in women's rights or gender equality.
Strong understanding of feminist movements and the socio-political context in Asia.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Educational Background: A bachelor's degree in gender studies, social sciences, international relations, or a related field is required. A master's degree is preferred and may be considered an asset for this position.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in campaign management, advocacy, or working with women's rights organizations is required. Experience in the Asia region is highly desirable, as is familiarity with grassroots organizing and coalition-building.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory. Proficiency in additional languages relevant to the Asia region, such as Mandarin, Hindi, or Bahasa, is considered an asset and will enhance the candidate's ability to engage with diverse communities.
