Job Overview:
The Research and Impact Coordinator will play a pivotal role in overseeing research initiatives and ensuring that the findings are effectively communicated and utilized to drive impact. This position requires a strategic thinker who can manage multiple projects simultaneously while collaborating with various teams. The coordinator will be responsible for designing research methodologies, analyzing data, and presenting findings to stakeholders. Additionally, the role involves engaging with community partners to ensure that research aligns with their needs and contributes to sustainable development goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in research and a passion for making a difference through evidence-based practices.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement research strategies that align with the organization's mission and goals.
  • Coordinate research projects from inception to completion, ensuring timelines and budgets are met.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data and insights relevant to ongoing projects.
  • Analyze qualitative and quantitative data, preparing comprehensive reports and presentations for stakeholders.
  • Facilitate workshops and training sessions to disseminate research findings and promote best practices.
  • Build and maintain relationships with community partners, ensuring their input is integrated into research initiatives.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of research projects, making recommendations for improvements.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in research methodologies and impact assessment.

Required Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in research coordination or a similar role, preferably in a non-profit or academic setting.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present findings to diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency in research software and tools, such as SPSS, R, or similar.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and engage with community stakeholders.

Educational Background:
A Master's degree in Social Sciences, Public Policy, Research Methods, or a related field is required. A Ph.D. is preferred but not mandatory. Additional certifications in research methodologies or impact evaluation will be considered an asset.

Experience:
A minimum of 5 years of experience in research coordination or management is required. Experience working in international development or with NGOs is highly desirable. The candidate should have a track record of successfully managing research projects and demonstrating measurable impact.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory. Proficiency in Kiswahili or other local languages is highly desirable and will be considered an advantage.
