Job Overview: The position of International Consultant Data Analyst is crucial for the UNDP's mission in Haiti. The consultant will be responsible for analyzing data to support various projects and initiatives within the organization. This role requires a deep understanding of data analysis methodologies and the ability to interpret complex datasets to inform decision-making processes. The consultant will work closely with project teams to ensure that data-driven insights are integrated into project planning and implementation. The expectation is that the consultant will provide high-quality analysis that contributes to the overall effectiveness of UNDP's programs in Haiti, ensuring that the data collected is relevant, accurate, and actionable.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive data analysis to support UNDP projects in Haiti, ensuring that all findings are well-documented and communicated effectively.
Collaborate with project teams to identify data needs and develop appropriate data collection methodologies.
Prepare detailed reports and presentations that summarize data findings and provide actionable recommendations.
Ensure data integrity and accuracy by implementing quality control measures throughout the data collection and analysis process.
Provide training and support to local staff on data analysis techniques and tools.
Stay updated on best practices in data analysis and apply innovative approaches to enhance the quality of analysis conducted.
Participate in meetings and workshops to present findings and contribute to strategic discussions.
Required Qualifications:
Proven experience in data analysis, with a strong understanding of statistical methods and software tools.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, in order to convey findings to diverse audiences.
Experience working in international development or with UN agencies is highly desirable.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
Educational Background: A Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Social Sciences, or a related field is required. Additional certifications in data analysis or related methodologies will be considered an asset.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in data analysis, preferably in the context of international development or humanitarian assistance. Experience working with UN agencies or similar organizations is highly desirable.
Languages: Fluency in French is mandatory, as it is the primary language of communication in Haiti. Proficiency in English is also required, and knowledge of Spanish would be considered an asset.
Additional Notes: This position is offered as an individual contractor role, and the contract duration will be specified upon selection. The consultant is expected to work full-time during the contract period. The position is open to both national and international candidates, and compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
