Job Overview:
The National Consultant for Private Sector Partnerships will support the UNICEF Azerbaijan Country Office in establishing and enhancing partnerships with the private sector. This role involves developing strategies to engage businesses and individual donors, facilitating digital fundraising efforts, and ensuring alignment with UNICEF's mission. The consultant will work closely with an international consultant to leverage financial and non-financial resources, conduct market analysis, and create tailored engagement strategies. The position aims to mobilize collaboration and support for UNICEF's programs in Azerbaijan, focusing on fundraising activities and partnership development.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Support the development of a private sector engagement strategy and business outreach plan.
  • Identify and secure new private sector partnerships that align with UNICEF's mission.
  • Update the Business Sector Analysis to reflect current market conditions.
  • Facilitate the establishment of mutually beneficial partnerships.
  • Provide regular updates and reports on partnership activities.
  • Develop communication materials for engaging with the private sector.
  • Assist in digital fundraising initiatives and identify suitable mechanisms for individual donors.
  • Collaborate with the international consultant to achieve deliverables, including signed partnership agreements and investment cases for collaboration.
  • Conduct outreach and information sessions for staff and partners on potential engagements with businesses.

Required Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree in social sciences, economy, business administration, or related fields.
  • Proven experience in business and policy analysis, corporate responsibility, or business and human rights issues.
  • Strong analytical skills and knowledge of private sector analysis and corporate governance.
  • Understanding of the business environment in Azerbaijan.
  • Previous experience with UNICEF is an advantage.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in developing analytical reports and policy documents.
  • Proven experience in quantitative and qualitative data analysis and report preparation.
  • Experience in facilitating consultations with business and government representatives.
  • Fluency in English and Azerbaijani, with good writing and presentation skills.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess an advanced degree in relevant fields such as social sciences, economy, or business administration. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of private sector engagement and partnership development.

Experience:
The position requires at least 3 years of relevant experience in areas such as business analysis, corporate social responsibility, and policy development. Candidates should have a proven track record of working with businesses and government entities, as well as experience in fundraising and partnership development.

Languages:
Fluency in English and Azerbaijani is mandatory. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset but is not required.

Additional Notes:
The consultancy is open to individual national applicants. Selected candidates will not be considered staff members and will not receive benefits such as medical insurance or leave entitlements. They are responsible for their tax liabilities and ensuring valid visa and health insurance for the contract duration. The selected candidate must confirm fully-vaccinated status against COVID-19, except for those working remotely.
