Job Overview: The consultant will work under the supervision of the Child Protection Officer and PSEA Focal Point to enhance the capacity and practices related to the Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) within UNICEF and its implementing partners in Montenegro. The role involves developing an Action Plan for 2024, conducting training sessions for UNICEF staff on PSEA procedures, and performing risk assessments for new implementing partners. The consultant will also be responsible for capacity building initiatives aimed at reducing PSEA risks among existing partners, ensuring that all deliverables are met within specified timelines. This position is crucial for strengthening the knowledge and practices surrounding PSEA, thereby contributing to UNICEF's overarching mission of protecting children's rights and welfare.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Support the development of the PSEA Action Plan for 2024, including drafting milestones, deliverables, and budget considerations.
Conduct training sessions for UNICEF staff on PSEA procedures and new risk mitigation tools.
Perform risk assessments and capacity-building webinars for up to five new implementing partners.
Provide further risk reduction training for three implementing partners identified as having medium PSEA capacity.
Prepare and submit a final report detailing the outcomes of the consultancy and the effectiveness of the implemented strategies.
Ensure that all training materials and reports are produced in both English and the local language, adhering to UNICEF's standards.
Required Qualifications:
A university degree in international development, human rights, psychology, sociology, law" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">international law, or a relevant social science field is required.
An advanced university degree (Master’s or higher) is considered an advantage.
A minimum of five years of relevant professional experience in child protection, prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse, or gender-based violence is required.
Experience in conducting training sessions is an asset.
Familiarity with the local context in Montenegro is preferred.
Strong organizational and facilitation skills are essential.
Previous experience with UN/UNICEF or other international organizations is advantageous.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess at least a university degree in a relevant field such as international development, human rights, psychology, sociology, or international law. An advanced degree (Master’s or higher) will be viewed favorably, indicating a deeper understanding of the complexities involved in child protection and PSEA.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of five years of relevant professional experience, specifically in areas related to child protection, prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse, or gender-based violence.
