Job Overview:
The Online Volunteer position at UNICEF involves providing emotional support and psychoeducational counseling to the Bolivian community through a call center service. Volunteers will work in shifts, dedicating 10 hours per week, and will receive extensive training on protocols for emotional first aid and support. This role is crucial in addressing mental health issues and preventing violence within the community. Volunteers will also participate in workshops and online training sessions offered by UNICEF Bolivia, aimed at enhancing their skills in mental health support and violence prevention. The position requires a commitment to providing compassionate care and support to individuals in need, ensuring that they receive the necessary assistance during challenging times.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide emotional support and psychoeducational counseling to callers in a call center environment.
• Attend shifts as scheduled, coordinating with professional teams to ensure coverage.
• Participate in extensive training on emotional first aid and support protocols.
• Engage in workshops and online training sessions to enhance skills in mental health and violence prevention.
• Maintain a professional and supportive demeanor while interacting with callers.
• Ensure a distraction-free workspace to provide effective support.
• Collaborate with coordinators for supervision and guidance throughout the volunteering period.
• Complete all required training and certification courses to receive official recognition for volunteer work.

Required Qualifications:

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to provide empathetic and non-judgmental support to individuals in distress.
• Basic understanding of mental health issues and the importance of emotional support.
• Willingness to learn and engage in training sessions.
• Technical proficiency in using computers and call center technology.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Educational Background:
A background in psychology, social work, counseling, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory. Volunteers should have a basic understanding of mental health principles and a desire to support individuals in need. Experience:
Previous experience in counseling, social work, or any role involving emotional support is advantageous but not required. Volunteers should demonstrate a willingness to learn and adapt to the needs of the community they will be serving.

Languages:
Fluency in Spanish is mandatory, as the service is aimed at the Bolivian community. Knowledge of indigenous languages such as Aymara and Quechua is highly desirable, as it will enhance communication with diverse populations.
