Job Overview:
The International Analyst in Sustainable Rural Development will play a crucial role in the project "Income increase for small rural farmers, through value chain strengthening in two PDET regions: Montes de María and South of Córdoba – Cosechando igualdad y sostenibilidad." This project aims to enhance the income of small-scale producers in targeted regions by strengthening prioritized value chains such as cacao, corn, yam, cassava, and plantain. The Analyst will be responsible for fostering relationships with Korean institutions, structuring new initiatives, and ensuring effective management and quality assurance of project data. The role requires excellent communication skills, a solid understanding of Korean culture, and proficiency in the Korean language to facilitate collaboration with Korean partners and stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The key responsibilities of the International Analyst include:
  • Supporting the management, coordination, and implementation of projects by enhancing collaboration with Korean institutions, advising on sustainability strategies, and drafting technical documents.
  • Managing technical cooperation with Korean institutions to strengthen cross-cutting approaches such as climate change, gender, and sustainable commercialization.
  • Contributing to project monitoring and evaluation by analyzing information gathered during project implementation.
  • Performing additional activities related to sustainable rural development and ensuring the achievement of project results. The Analyst will work closely with UNDP technical leaders and other partners to achieve these objectives.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (master's degree or equivalent) in Rural Development, International Cooperation, or Sustainable Development. Alternatively, a first-level university degree (bachelor's degree) in a related field combined with additional qualifying experience may be considered. A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience is required for those with a master's degree, or 4 years for those with a bachelor's degree. Proven experience in management, capacity building, and development in rural development or related programs is essential, preferably in Latin America and with Korean government funding.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes an advanced university degree (master's degree) in Rural Development, International Cooperation, or Sustainable Development. A first-level university degree (bachelor's degree) in International Cooperation, Sustainable Development, Rural Development, Economics, or Engineering, combined with additional qualifying experience, will also be considered.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience for candidates with a master's degree or 4 years for those with a bachelor's degree. Experience in rural development, international cooperation, or sustainable development is essential, with a preference for candidates who have worked in developing countries, particularly in Latin America, and have experience with Korean government funding.

Languages:
Fluency in Korean and Spanish is mandatory for this position, while knowledge of English is considered an advantage. Proficiency in these languages is crucial for effective communication and collaboration with Korean institutions and stakeholders.
