Job Overview:
The position involves producing digital multimedia visual content for UNICEF's advocacy activities, including public campaigns, donor communication, and media events. The consultant will create compelling digital content that engages audiences and sparks conversations around issues related to UNICEF’s mandate. The role requires the ability to produce high-quality video and audio clips, as well as still photographs, which will be owned by UNICEF. The consultant will work on various projects that may arise during the contract term, contributing to the organization's digital presence and advocacy efforts.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Produce digital multimedia content for advocacy activities, including public campaigns and donor communications.
  • Create video and audio clips, stories, and still photographs for UNICEF.
  • Prepare scripts for video and multimedia pieces.
  • Produce photo essays and multimedia pieces for the website and social media.
  • Shoot high-quality broadcast video footage.
  • Identify technical requirements for video shoots, set up interviews, and create shot lists.
  • Edit video content into news packages and documentary-style content.
  • Provide English, Chinese, and International versions of video content.
  • Edit b-roll footage and package visual content based on UNICEF's guidance. 1
  • Ensure all produced materials are of professional quality and meet UNICEF's standards.

Required Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree or higher is mandatory.
  • Diplomas in relevant fields such as photography, filmmaking, communications, journalism, or marketing are considered an added value.
  • At least 3 years of experience in photojournalism, video journalism, or a similar area.
  • Familiarity with child rights-sensitive photography/videography and reporting guidelines.
  • Proven ability to prepare scripts and produce multimedia content.
  • Experience in shooting high-quality video and still images.
  • Must have own professional equipment for video and photography.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess at least a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field. Additional diplomas in photography, filmmaking, communications, journalism, or marketing are advantageous and will enhance the candidate's profile.

Experience:
A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in photojournalism, video journalism, or a similar field is required. The candidate should have a strong portfolio demonstrating their ability to produce high-quality multimedia content.

Languages:
Fluency in English or Chinese is required. Bilingual proficiency in both languages is highly desirable and will be considered an asset for the position.

Additional Notes:
The position is based in China, unless the consultant only provides video editing services. Individuals must have their own equipment necessary for shooting full 1080P HD video and professional quality digital photos.
