Job Overview: The Technical Consultant for Female Leadership Training will play a crucial role in enhancing female representation in school leadership within Nepal's education system. This position involves conducting a needs assessment to identify gaps in training for female headteachers and local government officials. The consultant will develop a comprehensive training package that includes modules, session plans, and resource materials aimed at promoting effective leadership and management skills among women in education. The consultant will collaborate with UNICEF staff, government officials, and local partners to ensure the training is tailored to the specific needs of the target audience. The role also includes contributing to the development of a roster of trainers and facilitating the rollout of training programs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct a needs assessment through desk reviews and stakeholder consultations to identify training needs for female headteachers and local government officials.
Develop a comprehensive training package that includes modules, session plans, presentations, and facilitation guides.
Collaborate with CEHRD and other stakeholders to finalize training materials and ensure they meet the needs of female leaders.
Co-facilitate the Master Training of Trainers (MToT) program to develop a roster of trainers.
Adapt training materials for local contexts and diverse learner needs.
Organize meetings with stakeholders to gather feedback and make necessary adjustments to the training package.
Deliver technical training for roster trainers based on the developed curriculum.
Prepare and submit detailed reports on the progress and outcomes of the training initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
Advanced university degree in Education, social sciences, or a discipline relevant to Gender, equity, and inclusion.
Knowledge of global and national priorities and existing policies on Gender, Equity, Disability, and Inclusion.
Proven experience in designing training packages and delivering training on gender-responsive leadership and management.
Familiarity with Nepal's education system and previous work with government or educational institutions is preferred.
Strong partnership building and maintaining skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and with development partners.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess an advanced university degree in Education, social sciences, or a relevant discipline that focuses on Gender, equity, and inclusion. This educational background is essential to understand the complexities of the education system and the specific challenges faced by women in leadership roles.
Experience: The position requires at least 10 years of proven experience in training and curriculum development, particularly in the context of gender-responsive leadership and management. Candidates should have a strong understanding of the educational landscape in Nepal and experience working with government or educational institutions to effectively address the training needs of female leaders.
Languages: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Nepali are mandatory for this position. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset but is not required.
