Job Overview: The national consultant will play a crucial role in developing a manual aimed at helping parents monitor the development of children aged 0-5 years. This position involves building the capacity of frontline service providers to better support and guide parents, conducting consultations with national partners to gather feedback on the manual, and overseeing trained personnel to collect feedback from parents. The consultant will be responsible for preparing the manual for publication, ensuring it meets necessary approvals. The role requires the consultant to utilize best international practices while considering local needs and contexts in the development of the manual. Additionally, the consultant will create training materials and conduct capacity-building training sessions for service providers, ensuring they are equipped to assist parents effectively.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop a draft manual for parents to monitor the development of children aged 0-5, incorporating best international practices and adapting to local contexts.
Create training materials tailored for frontline service providers.
Conduct capacity-building training sessions for service providers to enhance their skills in supporting parents.
Gather feedback on the draft manual from parents and national partners to refine the content.
Prepare the final version of the manual, ensuring it meets all necessary approvals for publication.
Supervise trained personnel to collect and analyze feedback from parents regarding the manual.
Collaborate with national partners to ensure the manual aligns with national early childhood development strategies.
Required Qualifications:
An advanced university degree in Medicine is compulsory.
Specialization in pediatrics is required.
Training in early childhood development is essential.
Proven experience in providing early childhood development capacity-building support in Turkmenistan is necessary.
A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in early childhood development initiatives is required.
Strong knowledge and understanding of the national early childhood development strategy and proven experience in its implementation are essential.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess an advanced university degree in Medicine, with a specialization in pediatrics. Additionally, training in early childhood development is required to ensure the consultant has the necessary knowledge and skills to fulfill the role effectively.
Experience: The position requires at least 10 years of professional experience in early childhood development initiatives. Candidates should have a proven track record of providing capacity-building support in this field, particularly within the context of Turkmenistan. Experience in implementing national early childhood development strategies is also essential.
Languages: Fluency in Russian and/or Turkmen is required for this position. Knowledge of the English language is considered an asset, as it may facilitate communication with international partners and access to additional resources.
Additional Notes: The position is a consultancy role, meaning that individuals engaged under this contract will not be considered staff members under the UN and UNICEF regulations. They will not be entitled to benefits such as leave entitlements and medical insurance coverage. The consultant is responsible for determining their tax liabilities and ensuring that any necessary visas and health insurance are valid for the duration of the contract.
