Job Overview:
The Project Manager will work under the guidance of the Associate Director People in Humanitarian Action within the Division of People and Culture (DPC). This role is pivotal in supporting the coordination, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of the Humanitarian Review and HR in Emergency Retreat Initiatives. The Project Manager will facilitate work teams, liaise with stakeholders, and maintain effective communication within UNICEF and externally. The position involves coordinating strategic National Staff initiatives and supporting fundraising efforts for personnel and projects. The Project Manager will also be responsible for ensuring that the objectives set by the Associate Director and key stakeholders are met through effective work planning, prioritization, and monitoring of key initiatives/projects.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Project Manager will support the Associate Director and the team in setting and pursuing key strategic objectives related to HR in Humanitarian Action. Responsibilities include effective work planning, prioritizing, coordinating, and monitoring key initiatives/projects related to the Humanitarian Review and HR in Emergencies Recommendations. The Project Manager will organize the coordination board overseeing the implementation of recommendations, ensuring it functions successfully and is equipped with timely information for decision-making. Regular updates will be provided, and exceptional issues will be escalated as necessary. The role involves collaboration with Project Leads to ensure quality and timeliness of completion, monitoring work progress, and troubleshooting issues. The Project Manager will prepare background papers, briefing notes, and presentations, manage information flow to the Coordination team, and establish a knowledge-sharing system. Additionally, the Project Manager will build partnerships within UNICEF and with other organizations, and participate in taskforces and working groups as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree in Social Sciences, Human Resources, Business Administration, International Relations, Political Science, Public Administration, or a relevant technical field. A minimum of five years of relevant professional work experience in human resources, external relations, public affairs, or international development cooperation is required, preferably within the UN, government institutions, or NGOs. Experience in coordinating projects with multiple stakeholders, project management in Human Resources, and involvement in planning and reporting processes is advantageous. Experience in high-pressure environments and change communication is also desirable.

Educational Background:
An advanced university degree is required in a relevant field such as Social Sciences, Human Resources, Business Administration, International Relations, Political Science, or Public Administration.

Experience:
A minimum of five years of relevant professional work experience is required, with a focus on human resources, external relations, public affairs, or international development cooperation. Experience in project management and coordinating initiatives with multiple stakeholders is essential, along with a background in both headquarters and field operations.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish) is considered an asset.
