Job Overview:
The position of Procurement Process IC - Individual contractor is designed to create a roster of highly qualified consultants who will provide expertise in various thematic areas related to sustainable development. The selected consultants will be invited to participate in specific consultancy processes, which will have clearly defined terms of reference, timelines, and deliverables. This initiative aims to ensure that UNDP can respond effectively to the specific needs of projects implemented in Venezuela, thereby enhancing the overall impact of development efforts in the country. The roster will be maintained for a period of three years, ensuring a pool of qualified professionals is readily available to meet the demands of ongoing and future projects.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Participate in the development of terms of reference for consultancy assignments.
  • Provide expert advice and recommendations based on best practices in sustainable development.
  • Collaborate with UNDP project teams to ensure alignment of consultancy outputs with project objectives.
  • Deliver high-quality reports and presentations as required by the terms of reference.
  • Engage with stakeholders to gather insights and feedback relevant to consultancy assignments.
  • Ensure compliance with UNDP procurement policies and procedures throughout the consultancy process.
  • Contribute to capacity-building initiatives as needed, sharing knowledge and expertise with local partners.
  • Maintain open communication with UNDP procurement and project management teams to facilitate smooth operations.

Required Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in procurement processes, particularly in the context of international development.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
  • Familiarity with UNDP policies and procedures is an advantage.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.

Educational Background:
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as business administration, public administration, international relations, or a related discipline. A master’s degree or equivalent advanced degree is preferred and may be considered an asset.

Experience:
At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in procurement, consultancy, or project management, preferably within the context of international organizations or development agencies. Experience working in Venezuela or similar contexts is highly desirable.

Languages:
Fluency in Spanish is mandatory. Proficiency in English is considered an asset and may be beneficial for engaging with international stakeholders and documentation.

Additional Notes:
This position is part of a roster system, meaning that selected consultants will be engaged on an as-needed basis for specific consultancy assignments. The contract duration will vary depending on the assignment, and consultants may work on a full-time or part-time basis as required.
