Job Overview:
The Research Communication Officer position is situated within the Research Department of the ILO, which focuses on conducting in-depth research on labor, employment, and social protection issues. Duties and Responsibilities:
The specific duties of the Research Communication Officer include providing technical and editorial support to staff in developing and disseminating information materials. This involves editing, writing, or rewriting texts for articles, working papers, newsletters, and flagship reports. The officer will assist the management team in implementing the communication strategy in collaboration with the Department of Communication (DCOMM). Additionally, the officer will support the production of audio and video projects, ensuring all necessary clearances are obtained. The role also includes editing and packaging digital content for online dissemination, organizing webinars and virtual events, and delivering training on communication strategies to department staff. The officer will refine the department's automated research knowledge platform and prepare monthly reports related to communication and dissemination activities.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a first-level university degree (Bachelor’s or equivalent) in communications, journalism, international relations, liberal arts, or a related field. A strong command of one of the ILO's working languages (English, French, or Spanish) is essential, along with a working knowledge of a second language. Knowledge of a third working language would be advantageous. The position requires excellent writing skills, good interpersonal and communication abilities, and the capacity to adapt messages for diverse audiences. Familiarity with the ILO's mandate and programs, as well as analytical skills and proficiency in computer applications for information management, are also necessary.

Educational Background:
The educational requirement for this position is a first-level university degree, which can be a Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification in relevant fields such as communications, journalism, or international relations. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of communication within an international organization and for effectively engaging with various stakeholders.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of three years of professional experience in public information or related fields.
