Job Overview: As a Consultant (Partnerships Analysis) at UNICEF's Education Outcomes Fund (EOF), you will play a crucial role in supporting the Chief of Operations in implementing the partnerships and fundraising strategy. This position involves conducting high-quality research and analysis to identify potential funding prospects and contribute to funding proposals. You will be responsible for reviewing funding prospects, drafting summaries, and maintaining the partnership development CRM system. Your contributions will help EOF achieve its mission of improving education and employment outcomes for children and youth globally, particularly in underserved populations. The role requires strong analytical skills, the ability to cultivate relationships with partners, and a commitment to the values of UNICEF.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Review at least 10 new funding prospects per month and draft a 1-page summary for each prospect.
Lead weekly qualification and intelligence gathering for private sector funding prospects and current partners.
Provide technical contributions to new funding proposals, estimated at six 8-page proposals per quarter.
Participate in partner meetings and produce meeting reports within 24 hours.
Produce detailed briefing documents on potential funders for EOF’s leadership and partnerships team.
Record and report on partner engagement activities using HubSpot CRM.
Co-develop engagement plans for new funding prospects and existing partners.
Contribute to donor reports, estimated at two 10-page reports per month. Total estimated working days for these duties is 189 days.
Required Qualifications: A degree in a relevant subject such as Education, Economics, International Development, Communications, or Politics is required. An advanced (Master’s) degree is preferred but not mandatory. A minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience in fundraising or partnerships is essential. Candidates should possess partnership-building skills and the ability to cultivate relationships with current and prospective partners. Experience in conducting research in a fast-paced, results-driven environment is necessary, along with experience in relationship management with corporate donors, foundations, or philanthropists. Fluency in English is required.
Educational Background: Candidates must have a degree in a relevant field, such as Education, Economics, International Development, Communications, or Politics. An advanced degree (Master’s) is preferred but not required, indicating that while higher education is valued, it is not a strict requirement for applicants.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience in fundraising or partnerships. Candidates should have a proven track record in partnership-building and relationship management, particularly with corporate donors, foundations, or philanthropists. Experience in innovative finance and outcomes partnerships is highly preferred, as is experience in the international development sector.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. Additionally, fluency in Arabic, French, or Spanish is preferred, which would enhance the candidate's ability to engage with a diverse range of partners and stakeholders in the global education sector.
Additional Notes: The position is a consultancy role, and candidates will not be considered staff members under the United Nations and UNICEF's policies. Consultants are responsible for their tax liabilities and must ensure that their visa and health insurance are valid for the duration of the contract. Selected candidates must confirm their fully-vaccinated status against COVID-19 with a WHO-endorsed vaccine, although this requirement does not apply to those working remotely.
