Job Overview: The Partnerships and Fundraising Consultant role is a dynamic position within the UNGEI Secretariat team, based in New York HQ, with a duration from April 1, 2025, to December 31, 202
The consultant will work remotely but must overlap significantly with New York hours. The role involves building and managing relationships with donors and partners to secure resources for gender equality in education. The consultant will support the design and implementation of a robust partnership and resource mobilization strategy, focusing on addressing harmful gender norms, promoting girls' and women's rights, and enhancing young feminist leadership. The consultant will report to the Director of the UNGEI Secretariat, and successful performance will lead to stronger partnerships and increased funding for the Secretariat.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop a UNGEI fundraising workplan with individual strategies for 20 current and potential new donors, including a live document dashboard to track donor engagement.
Conduct outreach and follow-ups with potential donors and partners, managing approximately 15-20 follow-ups per week.
Create 8-10 concept notes and 5-6 proposals in collaboration with UNGEI partners throughout the year.
Organize and manage meetings and events related to donor relationship management, including developing a calendar of important events and facilitating approximately 60 meetings with the Director of the UNGEI Secretariat.
Compile results and good practices from UNGEI programs, drafting at least 4 case studies for donor reports, and submitting semi-annual and annual reports for eight current donors.
Facilitate and follow up on meetings related to UNGEI Partnership and Collective Impact Partnership, ensuring effective communication and connection among partners.
Required Qualifications:
Proven experience in fundraising partnerships, gender equality, and girls' rights, with a strong understanding of education.
A proposal or concept note written by the candidate is required for submission.
Fluency in English is mandatory, with proficiency in another UN language highly desirable.
5-7 years of experience in a global organization with documented success in fundraising, ideally in education or gender equality.
At least 3 years of experience working with international organizations in international development.
Strong writing skills in English and proficiency in standard tools like Adobe, Microsoft Office, and Google Drive.
Strong people skills, diplomacy, and an independent work ethic are essential.
Educational Background: A relevant educational background in fundraising, partnerships, gender equality, girls' rights, or education is required. Candidates must upload copies of their academic credentials as part of the application process.
Experience: Candidates should have 5-7 years of experience in a role with a global organization, demonstrating documented success in fundraising, particularly in education or gender equality. Experience in philanthropy is considered an asset, and a strong commitment to gender equality is essential.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory for this position, while fluency in another UN language is highly desirable. Knowledge of additional languages is considered an asset.

The consultant must have a completed profile in UNICEF's e-Recruitment system and submit a financial proposal reflecting costs per deliverable and total lump-sum for the assignment.
