Job Overview:
The Funds and Contribution Officer plays a crucial role in managing CNF grants and financial resources effectively and transparently. This position involves close collaboration with various UNICEF teams and divisions to ensure compliance with donor requirements and to provide robust financial oversight. The Officer will be responsible for maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, including major partners such as the Gates Foundation and various government entities. The role encompasses managing the grants lifecycle, ensuring timely and accurate reporting, and supporting strategic analysis and risk management to align with CNF's long-term goals. The Officer will also be involved in financial reporting, compliance monitoring, and risk management, contributing to the overall success of UNICEF's nutrition programs.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Grants Lifecycle Management: Ensure efficient management of CNF grants, including systematic grant creation, labeling, tracking, and monitoring fund utilization. Maintain a detailed master list of active grants and oversee allocation plans to align with CNF objectives. Implement risk management frameworks to address issues such as underutilization or non-compliance, and generate financial reports integrating programmatic outcomes.
  • Grants Reporting and Compliance: Ensure timely and accurate reporting in compliance with donor agreements. Coordinate donor reporting, maintain a calendar of deadlines, and develop comprehensive reports that combine financial and programmatic data. Manage an organized documentation system for accessibility and compliance with organizational standards. Provide technical support to country offices and divisions on grant-related issues.
  • Strategic Analysis and Risk Management: Support CNF’s strategic objectives through financial risk management and resource allocation. Identify and mitigate risks, ensure audit readiness, and address audit findings promptly. Assist in analyzing funding gaps and advising on resource allocation strategies.

Required Qualifications:
  • Advanced university degree in finance, accounting, business administration, international development, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in grants management, financial management, or related areas, preferably in international development, NGOs, or a UN organization.
  • Proven experience in grant creation, allocation, tracking, and compliance monitoring, including maintaining financial records and preparing detailed financial reports.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate donor reporting processes and manage deadlines effectively.
  • Strong background in financial risk management and audit preparation within complex organizational frameworks.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Vision, FIORI, or other grant management and reporting platforms is highly desirable.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree in finance, accounting, business administration, international development, or a related field. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of financial management and grants administration within the context of international development and humanitarian work.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in grants management, financial management, or related areas. This experience should preferably be within international development, NGOs, or a UN organization, providing the candidate with a solid understanding of the operational and compliance aspects of managing grants and financial resources.

Languages:
Fluency in English is required for this position. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, Russian, French, or Spanish) or a local language is considered an asset, enhancing communication and collaboration in diverse environments.
