Job Overview:
The consultant will play a crucial role in supporting the Safe Online team by drafting the Safe Online 2024 Annual Report. This position requires the consultant to review both quantitative and qualitative data reported by Safe Online grantees in their annual and final reports. The consultant will liaise directly with grantees for follow-up as necessary, ensuring that the data collected is comprehensive and accurate. The Safe Online Results Framework will serve as a guiding document for data analysis, which will include log-frame analysis for quantitative data and narrative reports for qualitative data. The consultant's work will contribute to the overall mission of UNICEF to protect children from online exploitation and abuse, ensuring that the findings are presented in a clear and engaging manner.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Review and analyze quantitative and qualitative data from Safe Online grantee reports, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Liaise with grantees to follow up on data submissions and clarify any discrepancies.
  • Prepare a final draft data table that consolidates the quantitative and qualitative results from the grantee reports.
  • Develop a draft of the Safe Online 2024 Annual Report, synthesizing the data into a coherent narrative that highlights key findings and recommendations.
  • Finalize the Safe Online 2024 Annual Report based on feedback from the Safe Online team and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure that all deliverables are completed within the specified timelines and meet the quality standards set by UNICEF.
  • Participate in meetings and discussions with the Safe Online team to provide updates on progress and address any challenges encountered during the assignment.

Required Qualifications:

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in relevant fields such as social sciences, international relations, public administration, communications, or journalism. This educational background is essential to ensure that the consultant has the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills to effectively analyze and report on complex data related to child protection and online safety.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience. This experience should include work in donor reporting, data analysis, monitoring and evaluation, or communications. Additional experience in areas such as child protection, legal frameworks, public policy, or technology will be advantageous. The consultant should demonstrate a proven track record of producing high-quality reports and analyses that inform decision-making and policy formulation.

Languages:
Fluency in English, both oral and written, is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of another official UN language, such as Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish, is considered an asset and will enhance the candidate's profile.
