The organization operates globally, engaging in policy dialogues and promoting financial sector involvement in international processes such as climate negotiations.

Job Overview:
The intern will support the Regional Coordination and Membership Team within the UNEP FI Secretariat Team. The primary focus will be on assisting the team with various activities, including supporting institutions in reviewing implementation, engaging with European members for segmentation, community practices, and events, and conducting membership activities through data analytics. The intern will be involved in coordinating and communicating with internal global teams, regional consultants, and other partners. Daily responsibilities may vary based on the intern's background and the internship period, but will generally include assisting with the organization and coordination of events, meetings, and the preparation of materials such as minutes and presentations. The intern will also assist with communications for events, webinars, trainings, and other key activities in the region, as well as the rollout of different regional projects.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern's duties will include: 1) Assisting with the organization and coordination of events and meetings, including the elaboration of minutes, follow-ups, and presentations. 2) Supporting communications for events, webinars, trainings, and other key activities for the region. 3) Assisting with the rollout of various regional projects. 4) Engaging with European members for segmentation and community practices. 5) Conducting data analytics related to membership activities. 6) Coordinating and communicating with internal global teams, regional consultants, and other partners. 7) Providing support in the review of implementation by institutions. 8) Participating in team meetings and contributing to discussions regarding project progress and challenges.

Required Qualifications:
Applicants must meet one of the following requirements at the time of application: a) Be enrolled in a graduate school program (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); b) Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent); c) Have graduated with a university degree and, if selected, must commence the internship within a one-year period of graduation. A background in economics, political sciences, sustainability, environmental studies, development studies, business administration, or finance is preferred. Some experience in communications will be an asset. Proof of enrollment or graduation date must be provided if selected for this position. Professional work experience is not required, but a field of study closely related to the internship is necessary.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes being a final year undergraduate or master’s degree student in relevant fields such as economics, political sciences, sustainability, environmental studies, development studies, business administration, or finance. Applicants must provide proof of enrollment from their current university if they have not yet graduated, or a copy of their degree certificate if they have already graduated.

Experience:
No professional work experience is required to apply for the United Nations Internship Programme. However, applicants should have relevant training, education, advanced coursework, or skills that would benefit the United Nations during their internship. The internship is designed for students or recent graduates who are looking to gain practical experience in a global organization.

Languages:
Fluency in oral and written English is required for this internship. Knowledge of French, which is one of the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat, is also necessary. Additionally, knowledge of another UN language is desirable, which could enhance the intern's ability to communicate and collaborate in a diverse environment.

All costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation, and living expenses are the responsibility of the interns or their sponsoring institutions. Interns who are not citizens or permanent residents of the country where the internship is undertaken may need to obtain the appropriate visa and work/employment authorization.
