Duties and Responsibilities:
Interns will be responsible for a range of tasks that include: conducting country scoping research to identify suitable contexts for results-based financing; performing detailed data analysis to understand educational shortcomings; advising donors on generating social returns; assessing the suitability of financing instruments; engaging with market participants to refine program design; preparing workshops for government officials; participating in the design of new financing programs in various education sectors; conducting research on current developments in results-based financing; preparing briefs on strategies and policies of international donor agencies; and providing inputs to inform EOF’s pricing approach for outcomes. This role requires a proactive approach to research and collaboration with various stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:
To be eligible for this internship, candidates must be enrolled in a degree program at an undergraduate or graduate level, or be a recent graduate within the last two years. Candidates should demonstrate excellent academic performance through their university records and must be at least 18 years old. Fluency in English and French is mandatory, while proficiency in Spanish or Arabic is desirable. Additionally, candidates should not have immediate relatives working in any UNICEF office or in the line of authority that the intern will report to. A degree in a relevant field such as economics, business, political science, finance, education, or international development is preferred, along with an interest or experience in international development and the global education sector.

Educational Background:
Candidates must be currently enrolled in or have recently completed a degree program in a relevant field. This could include areas such as economics, business, political science, finance, education, or international development. The educational background should reflect a strong understanding of the principles related to education and development finance, as well as the ability to conduct research and analysis effectively.

Experience:
While specific prior experience is not mandatory, any relevant experience in international development, education, or finance will be considered an asset. Additional Notes:
The internship is expected to start in March or April 2025, depending on candidate availability, and will last for six months. Interns will receive a monthly stipend based on their location, with specific amounts determined according to UNICEF's regulations. For example, interns in New York, Geneva, and Copenhagen will receive USD 1,700 per month, while those in other duty stations will receive 70% of the monthly salary of the GS level 3 step

The position may offer remote or hybrid working options, but candidates must have the right to work in the UK, as UNICEF cannot sponsor visas.
