Job Overview: The consultancy aims to develop a standardized programme for accelerated learning of the Romanian language for non-Romanian-speaking refugee children. The consultant will analyze existing language programs, design a new concept for accelerated learning, and develop a comprehensive programme tailored for both primary and secondary education levels. The consultant will work closely with UNICEF and the Moldovan Ministry of Education to ensure the programme meets the needs of the children and aligns with local educational standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct a thorough analysis of existing Romanian language learning programmes for non-Romanian speakers, summarizing key findings and identifying gaps.
Design a concept for an accelerated learning programme that caters to the needs of refugee children, ensuring it is adaptable for both primary and secondary education levels.
Develop the full programme, incorporating feedback from consultations with relevant stakeholders, including educators and community representatives.
Organize and facilitate round table discussions to gather input and refine the programme concept.
Prepare a comprehensive report detailing the tasks accomplished and a PowerPoint presentation summarizing the developed programme.
Collaborate with the UNICEF Education Specialist and the Moldovan Ministry of Education throughout the consultancy to ensure alignment with educational goals and standards.
Required Qualifications:
A university degree in education, philology, psychology, or a related field.
A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in the education sector, particularly in developing teaching-learning materials.
Proven ability to collect, analyze, and synthesize data effectively.
Experience working with national and international institutions or organizations, particularly in the context of education.
Previous experience with UN agencies is considered an asset.
Strong communication and presentation skills, with excellent written Romanian language proficiency.
Working knowledge of English is advantageous.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess a university degree in a relevant field such as education, philology, or psychology.
