Job Overview: The MEAL Coordinator plays a crucial role in providing methodological support to all program teams within SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL. This position is responsible for ensuring the quality and relevance of monitoring activities, as well as internal and external evaluations conducted on the mission. The MEAL Coordinator will be involved in capitalizing on lessons learned and developing a comprehensive MEAL strategy that integrates cross-functional issues such as protection, accountability to affected populations, community participation, and disability inclusion. The role also includes managing periodic Multi-Sector Needs Assessments (MSNAs) to ensure that SI's interventions remain relevant to the evolving needs of the population. Additionally, the MEAL Coordinator will oversee the monitoring and evaluation of SI's national partners and support the Grants department by tracking indicators and ensuring that MEAL aspects of project management tools are established before project initiation. The position requires active participation in decision-making processes and contributes to the implementation of Project Cycle Management.
Duties and Responsibilities: The MEAL Coordinator's duties include:
Providing methodological support to program teams and ensuring the quality of monitoring and evaluation activities.
Conducting periodic MSNAs to assess the relevance of interventions.
Developing and implementing a MEAL strategy that incorporates cross-functional issues.
Training teams on new referral processes and overseeing the monitoring and evaluation of national partners.
Supporting the Grants department with indicator tracking and ensuring MEAL aspects are integrated into project management tools.
Actively participating in the MEAL working group as part of a consortium and contributing to external evaluations.
Building relationships with field staff and contributing to the capacity building of local partners.
Leading secondary data reviews and needs analyses to inform design" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">program design.
Contributing to project reporting and the successful initiation of new projects with comprehensive MEAL plans.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a diploma in Project Management or a related field, along with 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector. Experience in a similar position is preferred, with 0-2 years being acceptable. Technical skills required include a comprehensive understanding of MEAL activities, proposal development, assessments, and strategy development. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills are essential, as well as effective communication skills for interdepartmental coordination and external representation.
Educational Background: A relevant educational background in Project Management or a related field is required for this position. Candidates should have formal training that equips them with the necessary skills to manage projects effectively within a humanitarian context.
Experience: The position requires 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with a preference for candidates who have held similar roles. Experience in managing MEAL activities and leading assessments is highly valued, as is familiarity with project management processes and tools.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory for this position, while proficiency in French is considered desirable. Strong communication skills in both languages will facilitate effective collaboration and reporting.

The role is based in Kyiv, Ukraine, and involves regular travel to field offices. The salary for this position starts from EUR 2860 gross per month, which includes a base salary and an annual leave allowance. Additionally, a monthly Per Diem of USD 700 is provided, along with coverage for accommodation and travel expenses.
