Job Overview:
The Support Coordinator plays a crucial role in coordinating support functions at the Amman Hub office, ensuring the smooth operation of day-to-day activities. This position involves overseeing various administrative processes, managing support staff, and ensuring that the Hub's operations are efficient and effective. The Support Coordinator is responsible for maintaining high-quality support for the staff and operations at the Amman Hub, which includes managing the Hub's budget and ensuring that all administrative functions are well-organized and executed. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to streamline processes to enhance operational efficiency. The Support Coordinator will also liaise with various stakeholders, including the Country Office (CO) and Regional Office (RO), to ensure compliance with administrative procedures and requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Support Coordinator will have a range of duties and responsibilities, including but not limited to:
  • Line management of support staff, including HR & Admin, Logistics, and ICT.
  • Ensuring quality support to the Amman Hub staff and operations.
  • Overseeing the Amman Hub budget and ensuring proper financial management.
  • Implementing and maintaining administrative procedures and systems within the Hub office.
  • Planning and coordinating all administrative functions, including event management, office maintenance, and accommodation for staff.
  • Liaising with CO and RO on visa and work permit requirements for international staff.
  • Coordinating with Gaza and CO HRM on staff movements and logistical needs.
  • Ensuring proper filing and archiving of all administrative documentation.
  • Managing logistics in coordination with the Gaza Log Manager and RO log unit. 1
  • Ensuring timely payments for the Hub's operations. 1
  • Preparing ICT and communication packages for new staff arrivals.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess the following qualifications:
  • Proven experience working as a Support Coordinator in a humanitarian or recovery context.
  • Previous experience in complex and volatile environments.
  • Strong fluency in English, both written and verbal.
  • Knowledge of the context in Palestine and Amman is essential.
  • Familiarity with start-up and hybrid work modalities.
  • Previous experience with NRC in Amman or the Middle East is considered an asset.

Educational Background:
A relevant educational background is required for this position, typically including a degree in management, administration, or a related field. Candidates with additional certifications or training in humanitarian assistance, project management, or logistics will be viewed favorably.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have substantial experience in support coordination, particularly within humanitarian settings. A minimum of three to five years of relevant experience is preferred, with a demonstrated ability to manage support functions effectively in challenging environments.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position, as all communications and documentation will be conducted in English. Knowledge of Arabic is highly desirable and will be considered an advantage, given the local context and the need for effective communication with local stakeholders.

This position is based in Amman, Jordan, and is classified as Grade (07) Step (01). The contract duration is for 12 months, with the possibility of renewal based on the needs of the position, available funding, and performance.
