Job Overview: The National Officer position at the ILO Country Office in Addis Ababa involves providing professional services that ensure the efficient and effective delivery of programming activities. Required Qualifications: The position requires a university degree (Bachelor’s or equivalent) in a field relevant to the job. Candidates must have a minimum of two years of professional work experience in program and/or project planning, monitoring, implementation, and evaluation activities. A good understanding of programming and results-based management (RBM) principles and concepts is essential, along with knowledge of the programming cycle and resource mobilization. Candidates should possess strong analytical and drafting skills, as well as the ability to maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders and manage competing priorities.
Educational Background: Candidates must hold a university degree (Bachelor’s or equivalent) in a relevant field. In cases where applicants do not possess a university degree, equivalent work experience may be considered. For example, completion of secondary school plus six years of relevant work experience may substitute for a university degree, or completion of secondary school plus a diploma/certificate from post-secondary education along with four years of relevant work experience may also be acceptable.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of two years of professional work experience in relevant areas such as program and project planning, monitoring, implementation, and evaluation. This experience should demonstrate the candidate's ability to effectively manage programming activities and contribute to the successful delivery of projects.
Languages: The National Officer must have an excellent command of English and a working knowledge of Amharic. Proficiency in these languages is crucial for effective communication and collaboration within the organization and with external partners.
