The position of Gerente de Implementación de Emergencia y Respuesta Humanitaria is crucial for overseeing and coordinating emergency response initiatives. The role involves strategic planning, implementation, and evaluation of humanitarian programs aimed at addressing immediate needs in crisis-affected areas. The manager will work closely with field teams to ensure effective delivery of services, manage resources efficiently, and liaise with local authorities and partners. Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead the planning and implementation of emergency response programs in coordination with field teams and partners.

  • Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, making adjustments as necessary to improve outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with humanitarian principles and standards, including Sphere and the Humanitarian Accountability Partnership.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local authorities, NGOs, and other stakeholders to facilitate collaboration and support.
  • Provide training and capacity building for staff and partners on emergency response best practices.
  • Prepare reports and documentation for donors and stakeholders, highlighting achievements and challenges.
  • Represent the organization in coordination meetings and forums related to emergency response. 1
  • Stay informed about the humanitarian context and emerging trends to anticipate needs and adapt strategies accordingly.

Required Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in emergency response and humanitarian programming, with a strong understanding of the humanitarian sector.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide teams in challenging environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on results and impact.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies and tools, with experience in budget management.

Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in international relations, humanitarian studies, social sciences, or a related field is required. A master's degree is preferred and may be considered an asset for this position. Additional certifications in project management or humanitarian response are also advantageous.

Experience:
A minimum of 5 years of experience in humanitarian response or emergency management is required, with at least 3 years in a managerial role. Languages:
Fluency in Spanish is mandatory, with proficiency in English being highly desirable. Knowledge of additional languages relevant to the operational context is a plus.
