Job Overview:
The Long-Term Agreement (LTA) seeks to engage individual consultants to provide strategic advisory services for Giga, an initiative aimed at connecting schools globally to the internet. The consultant will work remotely but will also travel to Geneva, Barcelona, and other countries involved with Giga. The role involves advising Giga on strategic positioning within Geneva’s international development landscape, strengthening stakeholder engagement, providing policy and advocacy support, and developing strategic models for growth. The consultant will collaborate closely with Giga’s leadership and external stakeholders to facilitate the expansion of Giga's work, focusing on enhancing school connectivity and bridging the digital divide.

Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Advise Giga on its strategic positioning within Geneva’s international development and policy landscape, engaging with relevant organizations and government bodies. 2. Develop and implement strategies to strengthen relationships with critical stakeholders in Geneva, facilitating partnerships that enhance Giga’s global school connectivity efforts. 3. Provide insights into the policy landscape in Geneva, recommending advocacy efforts that align with Giga’s mission and identifying opportunities to influence decision-makers. 4. Assist in designing growth models that consider Geneva's regulatory and operational environment, leveraging local and international partnerships. 5. Prepare high-quality reports, presentations, and strategic documents to inform Giga’s leadership and partners on scaling operations in Geneva. 6. Provide ad-hoc strategic input through consultations, including meetings or written recommendations on specific challenges.

Required Qualifications:
1. An advanced university degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Telecommunications, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field. 2. A first University Degree in a relevant field combined with 2 additional years of professional experience may be accepted in lieu of an Advanced University Degree. 3. A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in strategic advisory roles, particularly in engaging global companies and developing collaborative networks and partnerships. 4. Proven track record in business development, corporate strategy, and public-private partnerships, especially in international contexts. 5. Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence high-level stakeholders. 6. Extensive network within the global technology and public sector, with experience in engaging with government and international organizations. 7. Exceptional writing and presentation skills, capable of articulating complex ideas to diverse audiences.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree in a relevant field such as Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Telecommunications, Business Administration, or Economics. Alternatively, a first University Degree in a relevant field combined with two additional years of professional experience may be accepted in lieu of an Advanced University Degree.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 10 years of professional experience in strategic advisory roles, particularly in engaging with global companies and developing collaborative networks and partnerships. Candidates should have a proven track record in business development, corporate strategy, and public-private partnerships, especially in international contexts.

Languages:
Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish) or a local language is considered an asset.

Additional Notes:
The Long-Term Agreement (LTA) will be established for a period of 24 months, with the possibility of renewal for an additional year based on satisfactory performance. The consultant will be responsible for their own travel arrangements, including visa and travel insurance, and must ensure their health insurance is valid for the contract duration. Payment will be made after the completion of deliverables and submission of invoices, subject to satisfactory performance. The consultant must submit a financial proposal as part of the application, establishing the fee for the services defined in each task. UNICEF reserves the right to withhold payment if the deliverables do not meet the required standards or if there are delays in submission.
