Job Overview:

IDEP serves as a training arm of ECA, focusing on improving public sector management and development planning to support member States' structural transformation. The intern will work under the supervision of the Head of the Training and Research Division (TRD) and will be involved in various research and organizational tasks that contribute to IDEP's mission. The intern will assist in preparing studies, reports, and infographics, as well as compiling information and statistics relevant to IDEP's policy priorities. This role is crucial for enhancing the capacity of African countries in development planning and economic management.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including: assisting with research to support the preparation of studies, reports, papers, fact sheets, and infographics related to IDEP's work; identifying and compiling information, statistics, and databases in areas such as capacity needs assessments, economic management, social policy, development planning, statistics, youth, gender, and climate change; organizing and convening meetings and training sessions, including taking notes and preparing relevant materials; participating in team and division meetings to share information and assist colleagues; and supporting reporting processes in line with IDEP and ECA procedures. The intern will also be expected to engage in regular meetings to discuss work-related outcomes and progress.

Required Qualifications:
Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or (b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent). Internships do not require prior work experience, making this position suitable for students or recent graduates looking to gain practical experience in a professional setting.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this internship includes enrollment in or completion of a graduate program or the final year of a bachelor's degree program.
