Job Overview:
The P-2 Education Sector Position is designed for individuals who are passionate about contributing to the field of education and are committed to the values of UNESCO. Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the development and implementation of educational programs and projects in line with UNESCO's strategic objectives.
  • Collaborate with national and local authorities to promote educational policies that support inclusive and equitable education.
  • Conduct research and analysis on educational trends and issues to inform program development.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of educational initiatives and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Prepare reports and presentations on project progress and outcomes for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Facilitate workshops and training sessions for educators and community leaders to enhance their capacity in delivering quality education.
  • Engage in advocacy efforts to raise awareness about the importance of education and UNESCO's role in promoting it.
  • Participate in inter-agency meetings and collaborate with other UN agencies to align educational efforts and share best practices.

Required Qualifications:
  • A strong understanding of educational policies and practices, particularly in the context of international development.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team and to communicate clearly and persuasively.
  • Experience in project management and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data to inform decision-making.
  • Familiarity with UNESCO's mission and values, and a commitment to promoting education for all.

Educational Background:
A master's degree in education, international development, or a related field is required. Candidates with a bachelor's degree and significant relevant experience may also be considered. Additional certifications in project management or educational leadership are advantageous.

Experience:
A minimum of two years of professional experience in the field of education, preferably in an international or multicultural setting. Experience working with governmental and non-governmental organizations is highly desirable. Familiarity with UNESCO's programs and initiatives will be considered an asset.

Languages:
Fluency in English and French is mandatory. Knowledge of Arabic or other languages spoken in the region is considered an asset and will enhance the candidate's profile.
