Job Overview:
The Resettlement Caseworker plays a crucial role in providing direct Reception and Placement services to newly arrived refugee, Special Immigrant Visa (SIV), and parolee families. This position is aligned with the IRC’s Cooperative Agreement with the U.S. Department of State, ensuring that clients receive essential services from the moment they arrive at the airport through the first 90 days of their resettlement. The caseworker is responsible for coordinating various services, including public benefits applications, social security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security card applications, medical appointments, cultural orientation, school enrollments, and addressing client concerns. The role requires effective communication with the resettlement team and other IRC programs to ensure that all core services are delivered efficiently and compassionately.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Resettlement Caseworker has a wide range of responsibilities, including but not limited to: welcoming assigned clients at the airport; collaborating with clients’ U.S.-based ties to facilitate family welcoming; providing direct core services in accordance with donor guidelines; applying for public benefits and social security cards; gathering necessary documents; coordinating medical appointments; completing self-sufficiency plans; conducting cultural orientation sessions; enrolling clients in schools and ESL programs; addressing all client concerns; and maintaining communication with the resettlement team and other IRC programs. Additionally, the caseworker will coordinate specialized services with other staff, utilize Integra and Powerbi systems for recording expenditures, and employ ETO case management software for writing case notes and monitoring client progress. Providing trauma-informed services to all clients and participating in team meetings and office efforts are also essential duties.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Resettlement Caseworker position should possess several key qualifications, including a preference for lived experience as a refugee or immigrant. Proficiency in English, both spoken and written, is mandatory, along with professional proficiency in relevant languages such as Dari, Pashto, Swahili, Kinyarwanda, Tigrinya, Arabic, Ukrainian, or Russian. Familiarity with Microsoft programs and financial systems is preferred, as well as effective time management skills and the ability to work productively in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential, along with a valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle with current insurance, and the ability to travel regularly.

Educational Background:
