Job Overview:
The position of Coordinateur/trice Terrain involves implementing the zonal strategy in the operational area of Ituri, Democratic Republic of the Congo. The role requires active participation in the development of new projects for the operational area for 2024/2025, consolidating emergency response capacities, and maintaining a high level of security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security and access in the region. The mission is active in food security, water hygiene and sanitation, and cash assistance, with a strong focus on protection components. The position is crucial for launching new projects and recruiting teams, especially in a context characterized by security challenges and operational instability.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Implement the annual plan and zonal strategy for the operational area in Ituri.
  • Collaborate with coordination teams, particularly in the Program and Grants departments, to develop new projects.
  • Strengthen emergency response capacities in the region.
  • Develop collaboration with national partners.
  • Ensure a high level of security and access in the operational area.
  • Participate in the deployment of the new compliance department in the operational area.
  • Address security and access challenges in a volatile context.
  • Support the strategic and operational development of the area.

  • Consolidate partnerships with national organizations.

Required Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in international relations, project management, logistics, administration, finance, HR, or equivalent.
  • 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector.
  • Previous experience in a similar position.
  • Strong analytical and projection skills.
  • Experience in managing security in volatile contexts.
  • Project management experience, ideally in food security and/or water hygiene and sanitation.
  • Management skills with the ability to lead and supervise teams.
  • Strong relational, coordination, and networking skills.
  • Willingness to travel to field locations.

Educational Background:
A Master’s degree in relevant fields such as international relations, project management, logistics, administration, finance, or human resources is required for this position. Equivalent qualifications may also be considered.

Experience:
Candidates should have 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with at least one previous role in a similar position. Experience in managing projects related to food security and water hygiene and sanitation is highly desirable, along with a solid understanding of security management in unstable environments.

Languages:
Fluency in French, both oral and written, is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in English is considered an asset, enhancing communication and collaboration in an international context.

  • The salary is based on experience, starting from EUR 3080 gross per month, which includes a base salary and a 10% annual leave allowance paid monthly. Additionally, a monthly per diem of USD 800 is provided. SI covers housing costs and travel expenses between the expatriate's home country and the place of assignment. During the mission, a work and leave alternation system is in place, allowing for breaks every three months, with additional rest days accrued. Expatriates benefit from comprehensive health insurance covering medical expenses, including dental and ophthalmological care, and necessary vaccinations. Living conditions include individual rooms with private or shared bathrooms, communal spaces, and access to amenities such as electricity, hot water, and a diverse diet. Security measures are in place due to the volatile context of the Ituri province.
