Job Overview: The position is situated within the Application Management Services Branch (AMS) of the Information and Technology Management Department (INFOTEC) at the ILO. The AMS is tasked with the design, development, maintenance, and management of large-scale enterprise applications that support various administrative processes, knowledge sharing, decision-making, and collaborative work. The role of the Project Manager involves providing expertise in project management, application solution design, implementation, and business process modeling. The individual will act as a liaison between INFOTEC and business units to implement software solutions that enhance process efficiency and improvement. The primary focus will be on supporting financial, programmatic, and custom administrative modules associated with the ILO ERP system, while also integrating third-party applications and solutions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Identify, design, and implement business practices and organizational policies related to financial, budgetary/programmatic, administrative, and travel-related solutions, ensuring adherence to software development standards.
Provide expertise in ERP areas including solutions scoping, requirements analysis, functional design, application configuration, and user acceptance testing.
Lead task forces and working groups, implementing project management standards and preparing necessary documentation for governance bodies.
Conduct strategic impact analysis to identify opportunities for process improvements and recommend solutions.
Investigate application problems, develop action plans, and prepare incident reports for further investigation.
Identify reporting and analytical needs, leveraging business intelligence tools for decision-making.
Develop client relationships by understanding and anticipating needs, gathering requirements, and suggesting solutions.
Stay updated on software and technology developments relevant to ILO's business needs.
Perform other relevant duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess an advanced university degree in IT, Business, Finance, Human Resource Management, Social Sciences, or a related field. A first-level university degree in the aforementioned fields, combined with two additional years of relevant experience, may be accepted in lieu of an advanced degree. Candidates should have a strong understanding of ERP implementation methodologies, project management methodologies, and ITIL best practices. They should also have the ability to analyze information, draw conclusions, and suggest solutions effectively.
Educational Background: An advanced university degree in IT, Business, Finance, Human Resource Management, Social Sciences, or other relevant areas is required. A first-level university degree (Bachelor’s or equivalent) in one of these fields, along with two additional years of relevant experience, will be accepted in lieu of an advanced degree.
Experience: Candidates must have at least seven years of professional experience, including a minimum of five years implementing Oracle ERP financial-oriented solutions at the international level. Specific experience with Oracle ERP applications is required, particularly in modules such as General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Purchasing, Grants Accounting, and Projects. Experience with Travel and Results Based Management and budgetary solutions is advantageous, as is familiarity with Oracle Business Intelligence technologies.
Languages: A strong command of English is mandatory. Working knowledge of French or Spanish is considered an advantage, enhancing the candidate's ability to communicate effectively in a multilingual environment.
Additional Notes: This position is a fixed-term contract for a duration of 12 months, with the possibility of extension based on performance and funding availability.
