Job Overview: The position of the UN Volunteer (UNV) for Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability & Learning (MEAL) is crucial for the WHO's Joint Emergency Action Plan (JEAP). The UNV will serve as the focal point for MEAL, contributing to the strengthening of systems that monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of health emergency responses. Duties and Responsibilities: The UNV will be responsible for several key activities, including:
Serving as the primary contact for MEAL within the JEAP framework, ensuring effective communication and collaboration among stakeholders.
Assisting in the development and implementation of MEAL frameworks and tools that align with the objectives of the JEAP and EPR Cluster.
Supporting the collection, analysis, and reporting of data related to health emergencies and response activities.
Contributing to the preparation of MEAL-related reports, ensuring that findings are communicated effectively to relevant stakeholders.
Collaborating with partners to enhance the capacity for monitoring and evaluation within Member States.
Participating in training and capacity-building initiatives aimed at strengthening MEAL practices in health emergency response.
Engaging in regular meetings and discussions with the EPR Strategic Support Manager and other team members to review progress and adjust work plans as necessary.
Required Qualifications: Candidates for the UNV position should possess a strong background in monitoring and evaluation, public health, or a related field. They should demonstrate analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Familiarity with health emergency response frameworks and experience in data collection and analysis are highly desirable. Additionally, candidates should exhibit strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders effectively.
Educational Background: A minimum of a bachelor's degree in public health, social sciences, or a related field is required.
