Job Overview: The Consortium Coordinator will oversee a 12-month project funded by AICS, which aims to implement Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) anticipatory risk mitigation and emergency responses for vulnerable Afghan refugees, internally displaced persons (IDPs), and host communities affected by natural disasters in Kabul and Herat provinces. The Coordinator will work under the supervision of the Head of Programmes and collaborate closely with the Central Region Programme Manager. This role involves ensuring proper coordination, implementation, and communication across all consortium members and teams, while being accountable for achieving contractual objectives, including reporting, timelines, targets, and budget management. The Coordinator will also serve as the key liaison with donors and stakeholders, facilitating collaborative partnerships.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Consortium Coordinator will be responsible for strategic planning and leadership, including participation in the Consortium Steering Committee to present key decisions and recommendations to the donor. They will supervise project implementation across all consortium members, ensuring technical coherence and compliance with donor requirements. The Coordinator will lead grant management, overseeing programmatic, logistic, and financial aspects of the project, including risk identification and mitigation. They will conduct regular monitoring of activities, including field visits and consortium meetings, and establish efficient communication mechanisms among team members. Additionally, the Coordinator will represent the consortium with donors and attend relevant meetings with UN agencies and national authorities. They will lead the development and implementation of a Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning (MEAL) plan, ensuring the quality of monitoring reports and the incorporation of feedback from beneficiaries.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master's Degree in Rural Development, Humanitarian Response, or a relevant technical field. They should have a minimum of five years of experience in humanitarian aid settings with INGOs, UN agencies, or international organizations, including at least three years overseas and two years in a senior management role. Experience in consortium coordination, project implementation, and compliance with donor requirements is essential. Familiarity with grant management and compliance requirements of AICS and other major institutional donors is also required. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to manage large teams and have experience in Afghanistan or similar contexts.

Languages: Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is mandatory for this position. This proficiency is crucial for effective communication with donors, stakeholders, and consortium members.
