Job Overview: The Human Resources Analyst position is a critical role within UNOPS, focusing on supporting the development and implementation of HR policies and initiatives. The incumbent will be responsible for providing advisory services related to HR systems and processes, ensuring compliance with UNOPS rules and procedures. The role involves talent acquisition, administration, and team management, with an emphasis on knowledge building and sharing. The HR Analyst will play a vital role in enhancing the effectiveness of HR services, contributing to the overall performance of the organization. Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Human Resources Analyst include:
Supporting policy development and implementation by contributing to HR policy initiatives, maintaining data on trends, and communicating HR policy changes to management and personnel.
Providing advisory services on HR-related systems and processes, offering guidance on recruitment, contracts, benefits, and employee relations matters.
Implementing talent acquisition activities, managing recruitment processes, and ensuring compliance with UNOPS policies.
Administering contracts and entitlements, advising personnel on their conditions of service, and facilitating efficient onboarding processes.
Supporting team management by planning and overseeing HR unit operations, drafting recruitment plans, and supervising HR personnel.
Organizing training and learning initiatives for staff on HR topics, contributing to knowledge networks, and synthesizing lessons learned for best practices in HR management.
Ensuring the effective performance of HR systems and services, impacting client satisfaction and the readiness of human capital within the organization.
Required Qualifications: The required qualifications for the Human Resources Analyst position include:
Advanced University degree in Human Resources management, Business Administration, social or behavioral sciences, or a First University degree in Human Resources management or related fields combined with 2 years of relevant experience.
A minimum of one year of experience in professional-level recruitment and/or HR generalist services in an international, public, or corporate organization.
Proficiency in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Office) and experience in the use of Google suite.
Some experience in UN system organizations, preferably in a developing country, is desirable.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to work with data to inform HR strategies and decisions.
Educational Background: The educational background required for the Human Resources Analyst position includes:
An Advanced University degree in Human Resources management, Business Administration, social or behavioral sciences.
Alternatively, a First University degree in Human Resources management or related fields combined with 2 years of relevant experience may be accepted. This educational foundation is essential for understanding the complexities of human resources management and the strategic role it plays within an organization.
Experience: The level of experience needed for the Human Resources Analyst position includes:
A minimum of one year of experience in professional-level recruitment and/or HR generalist services.
Experience in an international, public, or corporate organization is preferred.
A first-level university degree combined with an additional 2 years of relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of the educational requirements.
Familiarity with UN system organizations, particularly in a developing country context, is considered an asset.
Languages: Fluency in English is required for the Human Resources Analyst position. Knowledge of local languages, such as Sinhala and Tamil, is considered an asset. Additionally, working knowledge of another official UN language is desirable, as it enhances communication and collaboration within the diverse UN environment.
