Job Overview:
The Strategic Programs - Program Associate CGP position is integral to the successful implementation of programmatic activities within the ABA's Center for Global Programs. The role involves assisting in various aspects of program implementation, ensuring that administrative, budgetary, and compliance requirements are met or exceeded according to ABA standards and donor regulations. The Program Associate will be responsible for coordinating research, drafting reports, and tracking business development opportunities. This position requires collaboration with the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) team to ensure accurate data collection and reporting, as well as participation in budget creation and tracking project activities against budgets. The Program Associate will also serve as a point of contact for projects, facilitating communication among program teams, country offices, and partners, and providing advanced administrative support functions.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Program Associate include coordinating input and conducting desk research for concept notes and program reporting, ensuring compliance with U.S. government and donor procurement guidelines, collaborating with the MEL team to manage program data, participating in planning and tracking program activities, assisting in budget creation and tracking, serving as a point of contact for project communications, providing administrative support functions, supporting the onboarding process for new staff, ensuring adherence to data privacy regulations, and performing other related duties as required.

Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for the Program Associate position include an Associate’s and/or Bachelor’s degree, previous experience working in an office environment (including internships or volunteering), and basic skills in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint. Preferred qualifications include a commitment to rule of law, human rights, democracy, and governance, excellent interpersonal skills, effective time management, strong multitasking abilities, familiarity with social media, and the ability to work as an effective team player.

Educational Background:
Candidates for the Program Associate position should possess at least an Associate’s degree, with a Bachelor’s degree being preferred. The educational background should ideally be in fields related to law, international relations, social sciences, or a similar area that supports the mission of the ABA and its programs.

Experience:
The position requires previous experience in an office environment, which can include internships or volunteer work. This experience should demonstrate the candidate's ability to manage administrative tasks, support program implementation, and work collaboratively with diverse teams.

Languages:
Fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory for this position. Additionally, proficiency in one or more other languages is preferred, as it can enhance communication with international partners and stakeholders.
