Job Overview: The Deputy Field Coordinator (DFC) will work under the supervision of the Field Coordinator and will be responsible for managing and supporting Project Managers in implementing activities in their designated area. The DFC will ensure that the activities are relevant, of high quality, and timely, adhering to the guidelines set by SI and donor requirements. The role involves participating in the design of SI's strategy in the area and proposing new interventions or adaptations of ongoing activities based on the evolving humanitarian situation. The DFC will also represent SI to partners and will be expected to back up the Field Coordinator during their absence, particularly in security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security management and representation tasks. The position is critical during peak activity periods, especially between September and December, when new projects are expected to launch.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage and support Project Managers in the implementation of activities in the assigned area.
Ensure the relevance, quality, and timeliness of activities in line with SI guidelines and donor requirements.
Participate in the design of SI strategy in the area and propose new interventions or adaptations of ongoing activities.
Represent SI to partners in relation to the activities under their responsibility.
Back up the Field Coordinator during their absence, particularly in security management and representation tasks.
Oversee the implementation of new projects and prepare for the merging of Program Manager positions.
Adapt standard operational procedures for activities based on the security situation in collaboration with the Field Coordinator and Security Coordinator.
Manage a team of approximately 10-12 people, ensuring effective project cycle management and cultural sensitivity.
Required Qualifications:
Education in International Studies, Development, or specialized humanitarian diplomas and training (e.g., Bioforce).
A minimum of 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector.
At least 1-2 years of experience in similar positions.
Strong knowledge of SI sectors or interventions, particularly in WASH, Shelter, and Cash.
Proven ability to design innovative and integrated approaches.
Good command of project cycle management and management skills for a large team.
Cultural sensitivity and a strong commitment to neutrality.
Educational Background: Candidates should possess a degree in International Studies, Development, or a specialized humanitarian diploma. Additional training from recognized institutions such as Bioforce is highly regarded.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with at least 1-2 years in a similar role. Candidates should demonstrate a solid understanding of humanitarian operations and project management.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory. Proficiency in Ukrainian and Russian is preferred, enhancing communication with local stakeholders and beneficiaries.

The salary is based on experience, starting from EUR 2,475 gross per month, which includes a base salary and an annual leave allowance. Additionally, a monthly per diem of USD 700 is provided. SI covers accommodation costs and travel expenses. The organization implements a break system, allowing for time off after every three months of work, along with an additional rest day for each month worked. Expatriates receive a comprehensive insurance package covering healthcare expenses, including medical, surgical, dental, and repatriation costs. Living conditions include a comfortable room in a guesthouse with 24/7 electricity and internet access, although field bases may have more basic living conditions. Security measures are in place, including curfews and movement restrictions.
