Job Overview: The Learning and Development Officer position at GOAL offers an exciting opportunity for a committed professional to join a dynamic humanitarian organization. The officer will be responsible for coordinating training sessions, managing logistics, and ensuring a seamless learning experience for GOAL employees. Duties and Responsibilities: The Learning and Development Officer will have a diverse set of responsibilities, including:
Training Administration & Implementation: - Coordinate and schedule training sessions, ensuring all logistics are in place for both internal and external training programs. - Handle administrative tasks such as preparing training materials, managing participant registrations, and communicating essential training details. - Provide support and guidance to external training providers and facilitators, ensuring smooth organization of courses and events. - Manage the annual Learning and Development curriculum and calendar, monitoring compliance with mandatory training requirements. - Maintain accurate training records, including attendance, certifications, and feedback from participants. - Monitor and track budgets, invoices, and contracts related to learning and development activities. - Assess and report on training effectiveness and participation rates.
Learning & Development Communication: - Assist the L&D Adviser in implementing communication and marketing plans for new learning initiatives. - Utilize various media and tools to create approved L&D communication materials. - Prepare and disseminate information, updates, and notifications through Learning & Development communication platforms.
Learning Management System (LMS): - Facilitate the operational maintenance of GOAL's Learning Management System, tracking and reporting on employee training data and analytics. - Liaise with LMS vendors to ensure optimal utilization of the systems. - Generate reports and track employee training data and analytics. - Collect feedback and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
Compliance and Reporting: - Measure organizational investment in non-LMS trainings by assessing employee hours. - Prepare and submit required reporting analytics and dashboards for Training & Development using business intelligence tools like Power BI. - Undertake other duties as assigned by the L&D Adviser and Head of Talent.
Required Qualifications: The ideal candidate for the Learning and Development Officer position should possess the following qualifications: - 1-2 years of experience in an administrative role, preferably within the learning and development sector. - Strong organizational and multitasking skills to manage various responsibilities effectively. - Proficiency in the MS Office Suite and experience with learning management systems (LMS). - Excellent attention to detail and strong communication skills, both written and verbal. - Desirable qualifications include a degree in Human Resources or HR Training and Development certifications, as well as proficiency in graphic design tools such as Canva and Adobe.
Educational Background: Candidates should ideally hold a degree in Human Resources or a related field. Additional certifications in HR Training and Development are considered advantageous and may enhance the candidate's suitability for the role.
Experience: The position requires candidates to have 1-2 years of relevant experience in an administrative capacity, with a preference for those who have worked specifically in learning and development environments. This experience should demonstrate the candidate's ability to manage training programs and administrative tasks effectively.
Languages: The mandatory language for this position is English. Additionally, proficiency in French and/or Arabic is considered desirable, as it may enhance communication with diverse teams and stakeholders.
